| The people of Alaska are in desperate need of the healing isolated villages where many are in despair and suicide rates are the highest in the country. The power of the Gospel alone can bring freedom from traditional animism and to tough individualists who are resistant to the "crutch" of religion. |
| SEND International is starting churches in over 20 countries and has been a presence in Alaska for over 70 years. We have launched ministries such as the Alaska Bible College, Crossroad Medical Center, and KCAM Radio to serve the communities and present the Gospel into hard-to-reach places. |
| If you've never realized the enormity of Alaska, the diagram above puts it into perspective. It is 2.5 times larger than Texas, yet only has 686,293 residents (that's 1.1 square mile per person!). An accurate census of the state may never be taken because many of the persons that move to Alaska are looking to "get away from it all".
